MAFB 2014 Senior Supplement Program

Want to make a difference in the life of a senior and represent your organization? Join the Community Service Committee as we partner with the Montgomery Area Food Bank’s Senior Supplement Program.

The Senior Supplement Program is a food box program for eligible individuals sixty years of age and over. Each month eligible seniors are provided with a box of groceries during the third week of the month (the time when most food budgets are low or depleted). There is no cost to the individuals served. The cost to sponsor and provide an individual with this service is $100 per year. This provides a monthly box of approximately 25-35 pounds of selected, highly nutritious food items, plus an additional Holiday Box, to include turkey or ham, on both Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The Community Service Committee is challenging the Montgomery Chapter to sponsor at least 10 seniors ($1,000) through the Senior Supplement Program. Remember, each team is not limited to one senior, you may sponsor as many as you like. As friendly competition, we have 9 teams (Altruistic, Bountiful, Compassionate, Generous, Helpful, Humanitarian, Philanthropic, Sincere, and Thoughtful) comprised of an average of 35 team members that will compete for bragging rights at our Fall Seminar. The team(s) with the most seniors sponsored will appear in our monthly newsletter in the “Community Service Wall of Giving” section.

The team captain(s) for your respective agency are listed below. They will be available to take your donations for your team between October 31st and November 28th. You may also donate online.
