Did you know the CGFM Certification is 25 years old?

In celebration of CGFM’s 25th anniversary, we will be hosting several chapter activities and events that involve the number 25 throughout 2019.

Let’s get started!

1. $25 CGFM Application Fee.  In March, AGA members can celebrate CGFM Month with big savings — CGFM applications are only $25 through March 31. Complete your application by March 31 and you will be entered into a drawing to win $25!  We will pick up to 4 winners!  Once you complete your application, email your confirmation to  Winners will be selected on April 1!

What is CGFM?
Certified Government Financial Manager® (CGFM®) is a professional certification awarded by AGA, demonstrating competency in governmental accounting, auditing, financial reporting, internal controls and budgeting at the federal, state and local levels.

CGFM is a respected credential that recognizes the specialized knowledge and experience needed to be an effective government financial manager.

2. We will be collecting canned food and other non-perishable food items at the Spring PDT. Due to the recent tornadoes touching down in nearby communities, we would like to do a food drive to help our neighboring community and home base.  Please bring non-perishable items to Montgomery AGA’s 2019 Spring PDT on April 12, 2019 to be given given to a local food bank. Our goal is to collect 25 pounds of food. If every member brings at least one canned food item, we will exceed our goal of 25 pounds!

3.  Join our chapter challenge of walking 25 miles.  Ashley McTear, Director of Community Service, has developed a fantastic platform to get the entire chapter involved. The platform is “Take Steps to a Healthier You”! We ask that each member record their steps for 25 days to reach a goal of over 50,000 steps (25 miles). Let’s take the steps together to finish strong with 25 miles each! Please use the attached log to track your steps and forward to once completed.

Happy celebrating!
